LO's I created with Papermaze June kit

I made these Lo's with the June kit from Paper maze. Loved this kit so much!!! Didn't take me long at all to do a few Lo's, really loved the colours and managed to do 5 Lo's and only added black and white card stock from my stash :)

follow the link to Papermaze kits

My 1st Lo "1977" the year I was born.

I decided to use these pictures to document my arrival,
I thought that the paper went very well with my mum's dressing gown.
Very vintage!!!

My 2nd Lo "perfect days"

I hybrid scrapped this one. The photos, journaling and title were all done on my PC.
I them mounted and layered on to white card stock and patterned papers and tied together with embellishments.
TIP- I gutted the double sided paper and flipped the middle section so you got to see both sides.

The journaling details our honeymoon in London back in Aug 2009.
I know what your all thinking, I'm a fast mover!!!lol
Not done my wedding album either :(

My 3rd Lo "Little learners pre-school"

My baby girl leaves pre school and starts BIG school in Sept.
This is her last photo there :( xx
She can't wait to start we already have her uniform :)

The embellishments were cut from the papers and stuck on with foam pads for added dimension.
I sprinkled embossing powder onto my Lo adding a little sparkle.
TIP-  heat and set it from underneath the paper to stop it blowing away :)

My 4th Lo "Flatford"

These photos were taken at Flatford mill, we had a great day there messing about on the river.
I used the whole sheet as is.I had so many photos that I wanted to use so I made a photo collage on snapfish.

I like this technique as I always take so many photos and can never decide which ones not to include. This way I get to use them ALL!!!

I used a craft knife to cut around the flowers and leaves, then stuck my photo on the back after positioning it. I really like this effect gives a soft frame to my photo.

TIP- When cutting with a craft knife I always cut on glass to give a crisp finish to the paper edges.
I use an old table place mat. :)

I did some more cutting and slipped the photos underneath. Finished off with embellishments in the bottom corner balancing my page.

My final Lo "Remember this"

These photos were taken of my eldest daughter and her friends before leaving primary school and going to high school.......

I cut the spot paper to 6"x12" and shaped using a template. Again this is a hybrid Lo.
The photos, title and flower embellishments were created on my PC. I used more embossing powder on the black card stock as before and on the chipboard butterfly.
I added pen stitching to the spot paper and hand wrote the journalling.

Teacher gifts

Hi thought I'd share my cute little teacher gifts that I made for my girls to give out when they finish school this week..... YAY 6 weeks off school xx

I found these mugs whilst shopping and thought how perfect they would be for the girls teachers.
I simply filled the cellophane bags that their teacher's thank you cards came in with sweeties.
Printed off some labels, punched them out and tied on with ribbon :) Done!xx

I recently came across a great website with a fab FREE yes FREE digi magazine.
It's released quarterly and is called Scrapbook and cards today.
Its a Canadian site and is filled with great ideas and projects.

Lol sorry pics were taken on my phone...........

I got my inspiration for my above Lo from the current spring mag.
here is the Lo I scrap lifted.
I rotated my background papers and used a portrait photo.

This is the Lo that inspired my Vanessa Lo.

Vanessa........
This Lo is about my childhood doll,
that I passed down to my daughter and now my youngest daughter plays with it. I loved this doll she has such a cute face.

       Loyal friend................
my lovely little cat Albie(who thinks he's a dog). xx

This is Papermaze's March crop kit.
Love it! found the perfect pic to go with this months colours.
Euro camp Paris.

This is the crop kit for April.
I really liked this kit and decided to use one of my many Xmas photos.
This wasn't an Xmas Lo but I thought the colours went well.
I also replaced the flower punch for a snowflake one to give it an Xmas feel.

quick and easy photo editing

Hi all just wanted to share how I quickly edit most of my photos with just a couple of clicks.
I use PICASA a free Google program its so simple to use.
I have shown an example bellow.

This is the original photo that I took of my girls in the garden.
I wanted to have it enlarged and to be printed onto a canvas for my living room.

I decided to not have the photo colour and I'd quite like to go neutral so changed the photo to B&W.

I simply clicked on the photo in my library . Then selected the picture of the 1st paint brush to bring up the toolbox. I selected B&W and applied to my photo.

I liked this much better but decided as my living room is decorated in soft browns and creams that B&W would look to harsh so decided to try out sepia.
Again select photo and toolbox. simply undo B&W and apply sepia.

I love that you can undo and redo as many times as you like without loosing the original photo. You can always go back and undo at a later stage.

I liked the softer colours, but still wasn't quite happy.
My girls have pale blue eyes and the sepia effect made them look an odd colour.

I undid the sepia and had a little play and found that B&W followed by warmify had a much better result.

Next simply export and save to device ready for printing.
Keep the image quality at maximum for the best printing result.

Happy playing

spring garden

I was inspired to create this Lo by the way my garden looks in spring.
I love the colours and new life that Spring brings.

I used flowers, buttons, ribbon and doodled swirls.
I added a little bling with some flat back pearls...

Just wanted to share my FAB new yankee candle shade and plate.
Very pleased with it!!!
Loving all the little bugs and butterflys. It brightens my room up lovely x
